Natural face mask to nourish and clean the skin

A homemade face mask is one of the best ways to keep your skin looking fresh and beautiful.

The next time you feel like adding a mask to your skincare routine, instead of buying one, why not make your own with 100% natural ingredients? We've got a recipe for a lavender mask, perfect for nourishing and cleansing the skin.

I'd like to share seven vital tips to consider before starting:

  • Use the appropriate dilution
  • Apply products in the right order
  • Use a patch test to rule out any reactions or sensitivities
  • Never apply essential oils near your eyes
  • Avoid direct sunlight, especially after using citrus oils
  • Make sure to use skin-safe essential oils
  • Avoid storing essential oils in plastic containers, as the essentials are very potent and can degrade the plastic

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients except the essential oil in a glass bowl. Never use metal containers as they may tarnish or plastic bowls as they contain petroleum.
  2. Use a wooden utensil for the same reason. Mix well and add fresh, pure water until you have a mayonnaise-like consistency.
  3. Cover with a white cloth and place the bowl in the sun for an hour or two to energize the mixture.
  4. Add essential oil when ready to use. Apply to a clean face and leave on for a maximum of 15 minutes.
  5. Rinse thoroughly and gently.
  6. Then apply a rose water spray to refresh and tighten the skin tissue.
  7. Finish with a serum, a few drops of rose oil or a moisturizing cream such as Echinacea.

Have a good relaxation!

Note: The use of lavender is not recommended for children under 2 years old, pregnant women (the first three months of pregnancy and the last) or breastfeeding women and people suffering from low blood pressure.
